e-readers vs paper: How do you like to read?
On paper and electronically.
Not a big fan or reading that much for leisure but if I am reading a non- entertainment magazine (Newsweek/business journals/ things of that nature) or newspaper I like to read online of digitally.
They just seem to be very big waste of paper.
If I’m reading a large book of literature I like it the old fashion style. I just like the experience and the hands-on-ness of having a paper made book.

Are you getting an H1N1 vaccine?
Nope. I really don't think I'll be getting the H1N1 vaccine.
I'm too worried about the unknown side effects or long term effects that come along with it.
As for the regular flu shot, I normally never get it. I have naturally healthy immune system and not much makes me sick.
The only times I've ever gotten the flu have been right after I got a flu shot, go figure!

What do you think of Tiger Woods' recent marital issues?
If you make your money as a public person, you should expect scrutiny when you screw up.
Well, he is a public figure. Almost all his games are televised, he does do commercials for the public to see and he has had the image of a squeaky clean and upstanding citizen. So anything he does will be a focus of the media.
In my opinion he should be happy with his two children, beautiful wife and he has a wonderful career.
Why would someone take a chance of losing a dream that came true for their self?
Some people just can't be satisfied with what they have I guess.

How much are you spending on holiday gifts?
Don't know yet, but definitely cutting back.
I am not going into debt for the first time in years. I will spend a reasonable amount my family and most importantly, I will donate some money to a few different charities.
For the most part my money stays local, those who need it most are helped instead and everyone learns the true meaning of giving and receiving.

Should KU fire Mark Mangino?
No. His coaching methods are intense, but nothing worth getting fired over.
Give me a freaking break! A player in helmet, pads and flack jackets is upset because the coach poked him in the chest?
What is this guy going to do when a 300 pound defensive player knocks the crap out of him?
I say it's because they have lost six in a row and KU is all in frenzy.

As a leader, I think Sarah Palin is ...
... a joke.
I believe she is a national embarrassment and I am insulted that if her party thought they had to pick a female running mate, she was the best they could come up with! Scary thought!
Who can consider any person that is disrespectful to others, rude, speaks without facts and lacks basic foundational skills on what it means to be an adult human and so much more?
A person like herself is deadly to things like peace, togetherness, love, caring and positive energy.

Would you give up meat to help the planet?
No.
I must be slow or something but if we all become vegetarians and start grazing in the plains, we are going to eat all the plants that extract all the Co2 gases.
So if they claim Co2 gases are no good then why would they want us to eat all the Co2 extractors?

Should Larry Johnson have been suspended?
They should've fired him.
Let's be real. The Chiefs were looking for an excuse after LJ called out Haley.
The 'homophobic slurs' nonsense is a smokescreen.
Sure, LJ was dumb enough to give them an excuse but I don't believe for a second any of this happens if he didn't call out his head coach.
I do think it's impressive that he, as a straight man, knows what Christopher Street is, and that he could make such an informed comment.
Sounds like he may have some firsthand experience he may be inadvertently disclosing. Closet cases – they're everywhere!!!

How have you made sacrifices at work?
I've taken a paycut.
Given that inflation has been negative lately, I don't think that pay cuts are at all unreasonable.
Implementation via unpaid time off would be ideal, but a cut in rate of pay is also economically justifiable.
I have never understood why layoffs are used when a business is losing money but not workload.
When a factory slows down by 20%, that's one thing, or if an airline has 20% less flights, OK, that makes sense.
When the collective workload is the same but profits are down sharply, or have turned into losses, what is the point of firing people and loading up the lucky ones who still work there with their work?
It creates a culture of fear and when the economy picks up again. People will not be so loyal to their employer if they feel they are disposable.
A 3% pay cut is one thing but a 100% pay cut with a permanent unpaid vacation is quite another, whether it's you or your co-worker.

Does Obama deserve the Nobel Peace Prize?
No. President Obama has done (I mean actually accomplished something) absolutely nothing to justify this high award.
Recognizing someone for their hope, plans and incipient efforts which boil down to not much more than rhetoric is ridiculous.
Never in history has anything like this happened in regard to the Nobel Prize. Why not recognize the Prime Minister of Israel for the restraint shown in not blowing Iran off the face of the earth?
It all boils down to the same thing.
