but im still enjoying this season a lot.
Sure the last month has been extremely frustrating to watch but overall we have made huge improvements.
Im a partial season ticket holder and even though i know that the odds of winning a game are slim, I still have a great time. I love it no matter what. If we win then thats just a bonus.
Not to mention,Having a losing team does have its advantages. I picked up my season tickets at a great price. Hell i even got front row. That would never have happened if we were a larger market. Plus there is never a problem with traffic, short lines for beer and brats, more of a chance of catching a foul ball. you get the idea.
So the Royals may not be a winning team, I dont care. Im just happy we have a team and im able to go to as many games as i do.
Once the Royals start winning, im going to have to start dealing with the fair weather fans too. Is it really that big of a deal if they win or lose? I think not.

Now lets have a beer and a brat and enjoy our losing team.
GO ROYALS!!!!!!

I'm going to have to disagree with much of what you are saying, except for the part where you say the Royals suck.

Huge improvements? Seriously? No way, they are just as bad as they have been for the past 5 or so years. The only improvements are to the Stadium.

Is it really that big of a deal if they win or lose? The royals are the laughing stock of the entire league. They are considered a joke, nationally. Does it matter if they win or lose? Yes it does matter. Because it reflects poorly on our city.

I blame absolutely everything on the owner: David Glass. Shame on him.
He needs to start acting like Steinbrenner and go buy some talent.

They tried buying talent and go Jose Guillen. And even though Guillen is having a good season, he wants out. But the Royals are making improvements. While it hasn't shown this season, they have young good players who will develope. The true test will be to see if they can hold on to them long-term.

The Royals are in the process of building up their farm system with good quality pitchers. That will lead to more negotiating power when making trades for power hitters. They have a very good GM in Dayton Moore who is building this team the right way even though it may take longer. He has a proven track record working in the Atlanta Braves organization for many years. David Glass decided he got sick of losing a couple of years ago so he is spending more money to get this ship turned around. They are signing their #1 draft picks the past several years. They used to select players based on signability but now they are picking the best available player and getting them signed.

Trust me, the Royals are on the right track. I am not sure I can say the same thing about the Chiefs.

seriously, I dont care if we win or lose and i still say its no big deal!
As long as we are losing I can still afford my season tickets and dont have to fight traffic. as long as we are losing i dont have to stand in line to get food, beer or to go to the restroom. plus,it shouldnt matter anyway.
There is something relaxing and all around satisfying just by being at the park. Give me a few beers and a sheboygan and im good.

If we do start winning (like the beginning of the season) I wont complain. I'll trade my current luxury for some wins but im not going to boycott and just stop going because of our losses either.
Win or lose, its fun either way.

Guillen... jeez, I dunno. To me that guy's been nothing but a headache. Brick wall They're having a poor enough season w/o his negativaty. Sure he's got some RBIs this year but most days he ends up going 0-4. Too bad about Maier and his broken face, since he came up he was doing pretty alright, injecting a bit of life into the late season. I'm still a fan so we'll see what happens next year but I think we're at least, sort of on the right path. DeJesus and Aviles are a blast to watch and so are Grienke and Soria. Butler and Gload are also showing some tiny signs of life... don't buy the coffins just yet!
My prediction: next year we'll finish in fourth, yes... FOURTH place in the AL Central. Ahhh... the sweet smell of fourth place...
