NPR is reporting rumors that Hillary Clinton's name is coming up in discussions for Obama's Secretary of State.

Read or listen to the story here.

Do you think Sen. Clinton should get a position in Obama's administration?

If so, which one?

The Minister of Pantsuits.

Why are they called Pantsuits? Suits normally come with pants, shouldn't we add a qualifier only when they deviate from that norm? Skirtsuits? Maybe those exist, I don't know. Shortsuits? That's the kind of business casual I can get behind.

In conclusion, that election and campaing were exhausting and I'm not ready to take politics seriously again for a few more weeks. Minister of Pantsuits.

Absolutely I think Hillary should have a power position in the Obama administration. I'd rather have Hillary for secretary of state over Bill Richardson. We need the best most powerful people we can get. It's amazing the contemporary articles likening this to Lincoln putting his opposition (it was a 4 way race) in his cabinet.

Full disclosure here, I NEVER wanted Hillary to be my president, but I'll take her as secretary of state!! (Of course, I've been saying for a year that _I'd_ offer sec of state to _Bill_.) And let's deploy Clinton (Bill) and Carter (Jimmy) anyway we can.

I dig Hillary, i know she comes across as a robot lady, but i think she would be a great secretary o' state and eventually i would like to seee her become the first female president

Secretary of State seems like un unlikely position for one big reason: During the campaign, Hilary said she was against sitting down face-to-face without preconditions with foreign leaders who are considers enemies of the United States.

But Obama disagreed -- his philosophy is that talking with these leaders face-to-face is the key to diffusing problems or conflicts in the future.

The one thing Hilary does have on her side: serious connections. Never before has there been a Secretary of State so well-known throughout the world. She could get a face-to-face meeting with, most likely, anyone she wants.

So, if Hilary does become SoS, she might have to change her philosophy on preconditions, considering she'll be answering to Obama.

. . . . . ummmmm, excuse me . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Henry Kissinger

He won a nobel peace prize for Viet Nam, and per wikipedia "In the Nixon and Ford administrations he cut a flamboyant figure, appearing at social occasions and seminars with many celebrities. He described himself as perhaps the only National Security Adviser to have a fan club." He was secretary of state after NSA.

Okay, you got me...shouldn't have been typing in the superlative.

But moving on...how do you get a Nobel Peace Prize for Vietnam?

I'm personally just a little weary of the Bush and Clinton 'era'. Two families have shared power for the last 16 years and it would be nice for a change. At the same time i think it is a savvy political move by the Obama camp to collect the Hillary supporters.
