Maybe The X-Files shoulda just died when the show ended. Problem is, it ended so ignobly a lot of people were hoping it would come back in some form and redeem itself. I Want to Believe wasn't a bad movie but what it felt like to me was a decent first crack, a small movie, the seeds of a potential franchise, that was aching for a sequel to get it right the second time around.
I doubt they'll get the chance.
