i hear you...although, if anyone ever gives me shit about not drinking, i don't really give a shit. i really just don't fucking care if someone has a problem with me, and what i put in my body. i mean, if someone is going to make fun of me for something stupid like drinking, as far as i'm concerned, they are a piece of shit, and i don't want them in my life--at all. if i'm at bar, i'm there to socialize, like you said, or to work, to eat, or to see a show. bars don't simply exist to get people drunk, although, of course, that's the most common reason people decide to go to one. people forget that NOT EVERYONE likes being fucking retarded all night. as i have to deal with drunk people every night i work, i appreicate sobriety more than i think most people. if the vast majority if individuals could realize how FUCKING STUPID and douchey they look, act and sound when drunk, i think they'd not only be ashamed of themselves, but they'd quit drinking.

oh, i'm a good driver, and a decent drunk driver, but when i start blacking out and driving myself home i know i just need to, um not drink. that and i hit a deer one time blacked out (i know it's a deer cuz the person with me in the car was drunk too--but not blacked out) and almost really fucked my world up.

hence, i just don't drink anymore. maybe if i wasn't the only registered driver in my house i would--but i just don't even like the feeling too much nowadays.
