Ooooo I'll have to check that out, I live 1 block from Chili's. I've heard great things about Bluebird Bistro as well. I used to love SouperSalad! when we had one on Johnson Drive, but it's gone now and I wrote corporate saying they needed to bring another back. I used to eat it at least once a week when I lived in Austin. It's a killer soup/salad bar with some additional eats like pizza and lettuce wraps.

never been to SouperSalad; buffets kind of give me the creeps. i just had one of my favorite on-the-go veggie meals - the great packaged food from Wild Oats on Main. i had the kung pao tofu. Not sure where they make it, but it's good. yesterday i had a great veggie lunch from that fancy grocery store in brookside - moroccan couscous and dolmas. yum.

Eden Alley without a doubt tops the list, their veggie tacos are out of this world. But I’ll have to check out KC Pita, looks like an interesting place. I really like the Dean and Deluca salad and sandwich bar out in Town Center, although it’s a real struggle to resist the temptation and stay on the healthy side. The one place I can’t stand is the Mix, gives me the grumblies every time I’ve had the misfortune to darken their door.

That's terrible Dustin. I eat there weekly, so that would make me very sad. Have you gotten the same thing each time? I usually create my own mini mixx with like fat free dressing, chicken, feta, candied pecans and apples. Mmmmm

Local Burger!!! They have awesome buffalo burgers -- if you're into that sort of thing -- and my boyfriend even had an elk burger that was really good. All their meats are locally and naturally raised, too. They also have health-conscious sides like "progressive potatoes" and a genius little side salad with apple-mustard dressing. Read more about Local Burger in our first issue, which comes out next week (shameless plug).

If I wanted a $15 salad, I'd go to Marsh's Sunfresh or better yet that fancy market Jennifer mentioned, Brookside Market, and get a three pound badazz one and eat it all day. I did the Mixx once, good, but too pricey. Havn't been since.

sheesh! how do you spend $15 on a salad bar? lettuce really doesn't weight that much... i agree about the mixx. yeah, it's a good salad, but a lot of places have good salad and i don't try to make $10 lunches a habit.

I'm not saying I've made a $15 salad, that would be a three pound salad. I guess it's all in the extra veggies, meats, and cottage cheese!
