Beyond the obvious drug paralizing taking advantage of someone who is incompacitated...what other senerios apply, if any?

I think there is a significant difference between someone who willingly gets wasted and agree's to sex (man or woman, and yes both do happen) and calling that date-rape as opposed to a playa (man or woman) lying in wait at a bar/club/party for the intent of scoring a drunk. These people usually show up at just before closing time and make their move, and they can be strangers or even "friends." I've seen it done personally, more than once. THAT I call date-rape.

You know, this post is sort of inappropriate. If you don't know what date rape is, well, you should by now. If you are using this faux discussion topic as a way to get at an underlying belief that the term "date rape" is used too broadly, well, I don't think this is a place to do so. Rape applies even when someone willingly gets drunk and says no, or is too drunk to consent.

I agree. Anytime anyone says "no" to a sexual advance and is forced into it, is rape, in a date or otherwise. Being "too drunk to consent" is just a cop-out for regrettable behavior, if that's how one looks back on it.

As far as the content of this website, if you are the owner/operator I will adhere to the guidelines you set forth, especially if you could post them somewhere. If not...I believe you to be out of line as to dictate what is and is not "appropriate."

It's always good to use a public forum to work out your definition of sexual assault in all its many delicious flavors. How about the women on this site who are too polite to say no to adding your creepy Frink ass when you swoop in the moment their profiles are posted? Is any woman with an appealing photo just asking for it, Paulie, begging for a little of your magical zen-libertarian-on-Cialis wisdom? Is it "consentual" whenever you post a cyber wolf whistle and plead with married Ink editors and wanna-be models to come meet you in the Power & Light District? Is it possible to e-mail a faceful of pepper spray?

I can see why you have sooo many friends. Glad you find all of what I do here so interesting that you personally take the time to scrutinize all of what I do in such detail. And I'm sure the women who read this web page are counting on you to speak on their polite behalfs, even without them asking you to. NOT! Dream on, "wanna be knight in shining armour" London-man.

Paulie, Great use of the "NOT" gag. I thought that the Borat movie would have stopped anyone with an ounce of self-awareness from using that classic comedic usage. Thanks for having the courage to use it no matter the reprecussions to your legacy.

Personally, I don't mind someone speaking up for me in this instance. Freedom of speech is one of the many things we'll celebrate tomorrow, but the topic of this thread is just plain bizarre. If you need to know what date-rape is, well ... that's not a good sign.

Wow...ya'll can talk till to no end about the "fun stuff" about sex (and you do, post after post), but when it comes to something real - like the difference between stupid drunk sex and rape, you get all obscure and "well if you don't know..." which is about as infintile an answer as one can produce. This "topic is bizarre...sexual assault in all its many delicious flavors...If you don't know what date rape is, well, you should by now..." I guess I picked too grown up a topic to discuss.

Nevermind!

Paulie, you are my "fun stuff." Don't listen to all those rational, normal people living in the real world. Be you. Please be you. But would you mind giving the KCPD a dna sample ... just in case?

I think I'll not give much of any credit to any one without enough balls to put a real picture of him/herself on a public forum, who hide in the cowardice of aninimity...and whose responses to topics ALWAYS center around inuendos and sarcasm. Those, we all know, are the bedrock of good debate.
