Was talking a bit with a new friend this afternoon and as it turns out her last relationship was one of the best she'd ever been involved in. The rest were guys who beat her down physically and emotionally. And I told her..."why? I wouln't be 5 seconds longer with someone who did that to me."

It made me realize that I think people actually don't want to be in a relationship as much anymore. Otherwise, why would they consistantly pair up with such "people" as my friend did. This story is waaay to commonplace. Making connections with no chance of any long term result. Just for fun. Just for the moment. Just to get their needs/desires met...either instantly or for a short while. Just to prove something. Whatever. It's sooo rare these days to see people who couple up think that it could indefinately last. Even the ones who have gotten married don't do so with a no-end plan. There's always an "out." And those whom they choose to spend time with are not who they need or who would even be considered a good catch from the start...(like, a nice guy/girl.)

I personally don't find anyone who'll give me the time of day...other than being aquaintances or friends. Nothing more. And all I ever hear about from others are all the sucky people they've been involved with or are involved with. Damn! When will the light ever click on??? There actually ARE other types of men and women out there!
