I had the worst restaurant service EVER last night.

After the Sex and the City cocktail party at Mosaic, Monica and I stumbled to a restaurant nearby to get some much-needed grub. Bad idea.

Here are my top five dining pet peeves. I experienced all of them last night.

1. No TP in the bathroom.

2. The waitress didn't bring us napkins and we were eating a plate of NACHOS.

3. The waitress didn't bring us water. Or ask us if we wanted anything to drink. Even after she brought us the nachos.

4. The waitress fly-by: whereby the skimpily-clad waitress jets by your table, asking you "everything taste alright" with no intention of stopping.

5. The waitress no-show: whereby the waitress doesn't stop by your table for AGES because she's too busy flirting with the frat boys watching the Royals game at the bar.

I'm never going to that place again. Can you guess which restaurant I went to? And what are your dining don'ts?

tengo sed? please don't say flying saucer - I've been looking forward to going there...
I am going to guess it was a Tanner's.
Oooh! Oooh! I know where it was.
My guess would be McFaddens. Also, my major pet peeve is when male servers don't even acknowledge me when I'm out with my husband. It makes my inner feminist scream with outrage.
does it bother anybody else when servers don't write down your order? I uderstand if it's like water and nachos to not have to write it down but otherwise why not do it? I'm not supposed to be wowed when an order is correct. It's just frustrating when it's incorrect. The bottom line is, I would rather just reciebve the correct order and writing it down usually ensures it will come out as I ordered. Am I alone on this?
I also needed some grub after the S&TC Mosaic party. My friend and I went to four different places in P&L and were turned away because their kitchens closed at 9 or 10 before we got to The Bristol who served us food in the bar at 10:05 pm. I know it was a Wednesday night but there were a lot of people spending time - and money - in the P&L. Completely closing kitchens so early is not very powerful or enlightened. By the way, the food and service at The Bristol were worth the search.
