I am a 28-year-old Kansas City transplant from Michigan. I am in no way a dating expert. In fact, I often have a love-hate relationship with dating. But when it comes to talking about dating, it's all love.

"I have voluntarily entered a facility for the treatment of sex addiction," David Duchovny has said. "I ask for respect and privacy for my wife and children as we deal with this situation as a family."

I am not buying it. Sex addiction? David, you not addicted, you like sex and you cheated and you got caught. That's what I am betting. It stinks because I love David Duchovny and what is the deal, his wife is smoking hot and she's got that husky voice, why does he need to look elsewhere anyway?

Oh, right, cause he can't help himself. He has a problem.

Whatever. I think very few people out there are actually addicted to sex. I think people love sex, which isn't a crime, it's normal. But sex ain't crack. If you miss sex you aren't going to be rolled up in a corner somewhere having withdrawals. I do wonder though, does Mulder have to swear off sex for good now? And if you are addicted to sex, what do you offer up to your pusher if don't have money? Drug addicts offer sexual favors. So do sex addicts offer drugs? Maybe sex addicts have to be rich.

How many people in your circle of friends have dealt with sexual addiction? Don't worry, I'll wait.

That's what I thought. Eric Benet, Halle Berry's ex, went to rehab for sex addiction. That's the only person I can think of off the top of my head and clearly he is not in my circle of friends. He later said he didn't really have a problem, he just cheated and went to rehab to save his marriage.

You know, I'm addicted to chocolate. Maybe if a celebrity comes out and admits their addiction too, someone will start a chocoholics rehab. Man, I'm am harsh today. But sex addiction, David? Come on! Come on!

You said it...right on! The only people who go to sex rehab are the ones who are threatened by a jelous partner. Single people don't go. Who they gonna offend by looking at porn, or going to a strip club, or whatever? Tonight is Chippendale's night at VooDoo Lounge...whohoo! How many sex additcs are gonna show up there? What, like women can't be? Oh, only if their jelous partners wanna call it that...LOL :)
Eric Benet is the dumbest male (not man) walking the face of this Earth (GWB inclusive) No Exceptions. You don't cheat on Halle Berry.
so when i was in high school i went to a large youth conference for united methodist youth and we got to see a kirk franklin concert and in the middle of the concert he broke down and praised jesus with a testimonial. and this would have been ncie if it was not about his sex/porn addiction. let me tell you listening to a gospel singer tell you about his sex/porn additction in the tenn. voluenteers stadium filled with united methodist youth ranging from 8-12 grade is a little... odd to say the least.
Yeah...right. Been around those people alot in my past, the religous folk. They're all about the evils of sex. Gimme a freakin break. It's why so many of them are quite literally f-ked up! ...and obsessed with the deal. THAT'S the addiction. Being obsessed with purging yourself from natural emotions and feelings and calling it "wrong..." all the while doing whatever turns you on in secret. LOL I swear, there is no more promiscuious person on the planet than a religious man or woman out sneaking around...cheating on their partner or (according to them) their faith.
an addiction doesn't necessarily involve a substance. any behavior that is debilitating to the normal function of your life can be an addiction. sex. gambling, watching TV, exercise, overeating, playing video games or responding to peoples blogs are all examples of behavior based addiction. i'm sure there will be people reading this that are thinking "oh god! give me a break!" and i'm sure those people have never gotten a message on their cell phone and been tempted to check or respond to it even at an inappropriate moment. now, i'm not comparing sex addiction to checking your cell phone in a meeting or on a date, but it's still a behavioral trigger, even if you resist checking the phone you feel the need to check it until you get a chance to. any behavior taken to excess and intrudes on your life, job, or personal relationships would be considered an addiction. isn't psychology fun?
uhhh... sorry but look up addiction in the dictionary. Your question is more about whether David D. is lying but not questioning the validity of sexual addiction. Kungfujunkie's comment is the correct response on this subject. Why do we get so hung up on other peoples lives? Why question what he did and make assumptions when we have no clue to what's going on in his life? Yet another celebrity based story. blah blah blah. Don't care.
