Between planning another lonely Valentine’s Day and stocking up on booze and chocolate, I spruced up a lame candle jar with a faux-cork finish.

I spotted this project in Todd Oldham’s “Kid Made Modern.” (Yeah, I read kids’ books. So what?)

This rustic touch provides extra warmth on a cold Feb. 14 — whether your evening is hopelessly romantic or just hopeless.
