PHIL PETERSON { special to ink }
Marcus Moore, KMBC news reporter, has covered some pretty heavy topics — from the murder of 18-year-old Kelsey Smith to the destruction of Hurricane Katrina.
But one of the most unforgettable moments of his career happened during some routine storm coverage.
“I screamed like a girl — no offense to the ladies — running from a small tornado, and it was broadcast on television and the Internet!” lamented Moore, 27.
Moore is fearless, however, when it comes to racing at 100 miles per hour in a car or go-kart.
“Not much can match the feeling of taking a car to its absolute limit around a race track,” he said. “It’s a lot like a dance and very rewarding when you get it just right. I’ve attended racing school and drive whatever I can get my hands on at tracks here in the States, Europe and Mexico.”
