Lindsay Hanson Metcalf

I'm a grammar-loving, politics-following, piano-playing, red-wine-drinking, married homeowner and mother of two ... cats. I like music that broods. My youth as a farm girl is manifesting itself in a premature affection for gardening.

NKOTB in KC!

If you missed them in the '80s, your childhood fantasies just came true. The New Kids on the Block announced today they'll play Kansas City's Sprint Center Nov. 11, toward the end of their 36-stop tour.

That sent a few Ink staffers into a frenzy this morning. Calm down. Tickets aren't on sale yet, and the date isn't yet listed on Ticketmaster.

The Not-So-New Kids made their big performance on the "Today" show this morning.

Go here to watch, then come back and discuss.

They sang a medley of their old hits, "Tonight," and their new single, "Summertime."

Their voices were out of shape and their dance moves were rigid, but I got the same chills Joey McIntyre gave me as a 7-year-old when he sang "Please don't go, girl."

Who's excited?

There were awesome because I wanted them to be. Have they always been bad singers and we just refused to believe it? I don't know, but I'm using my investigative reporting skills to figure out what day tix go on sale. I am SO There!!! I heart Jonathan!
