If you missed them in the '80s, your childhood fantasies just came true. The New Kids on the Block announced today they'll play Kansas City's Sprint Center Nov. 11, toward the end of their 36-stop tour.

That sent a few Ink staffers into a frenzy this morning. Calm down. Tickets aren't on sale yet, and the date isn't yet listed on Ticketmaster.

Elation. Disbelief. Misty eyes. I'm so happy for my Jayhawks.

I scared my cats with all my screaming and arm thrashing and jumping tonight. How beautiful was that clutch shot by Mario Chalmers? Three points to tie with two seconds left. I have chills. Twenty years since Danny and the Miracles. Chills. Well, not anymore. Luther Vandross' cheesy "One Shining Moment" at the end kind of killed my moment.

Too bad tonight's national championship — ROCK CHALK! — was marred by multiple television appearances by a KU-logo-wearing Roy Williams. The former KU coach and current North Carolina coach had no place riffing on his former team's success. His demeanor and CBS halftime interview suggested the self-serving motive of him trying to reconcile with Kansas and its fans. Just go home, Roy. You left.
