Who the (expletive) cares? MSN's homepage threw this up as "today's hot topic." Here's what I thought when I first came across it:

Both candidates talked to Entertainment Weekly about pop culture recently, and John McCain said he likes Usher. Now just try not to picture McCain wearing an Atlanta Braves hat and doing the A-Town stomp while singing "Yeah."

(Update: Or, as one of my boys suggested, try not to picture McCain makin' love in this club.)

Here's the full McCain Q and A. And the full Obama Q and A.

Notice how their picks seem to play to campaign talking points. As my favorite dating blogger Pam Spencer might say, "Lame."

Now, there is some value to cute little features like this if it gets people talking about politics. Because the more that happens, the more likely it becomes that people go vote. But if I were running for president, the interview would have gone a like something this:

EW: Who's your favorite movie or TV president?
GM: Your mother.
EW: Excuse me?
GM: You heard me, your mother. Doesn't make any sense, right?
You know what else doesn't make any sense? The fact that our public education system is failing our kids. You ever see a kid graduate from high school and can't read? Because that shit happens. And it happens a lot more than it's probably comfortable for anybody with a conscience to admit.
We need to get that fixed, because we need more kids who finish their education with elite-level skills in science and technology. Skills that create jobs. Skills that can fix the economy and the environment at the same time.
Instead, we've got a bunch of motherfu... pardon me, instead we've got a bunch of graduates who spend all of their time on MyBook and FaceSpace blogging in bad English and worse spelling like it's some sort of reverse grammar competition.
We also need more diversity of thought, because that leads to new thinking and new solutions. But that's another issue for another day.
Anyway, my opponent agrees that education is one of the most important issues facing our country. What's more, the two of us have very different plans for how to address that issue. And I'd love to tell you my plan, but instead you're up in here asking me what I think about "Dave" or "24" or "Independence Day" as if anybody gives a fuck.

Click and Move will update later, but for now, here are the original clicks that ran with that political rant:

Also, it seems China banned a kid from singing at the opening ceremonies because she has crooked teeth. That's rough. When I was a youngster, my teeth were all over the place. Forget keeping me out of the public eye, China would have deported me.

(Update: My girl Jenee Osterheldt had a great take on this.)

*Police say a man dressed as Winnie the Pooh robbed two people.

*A 12-year-old kid robbed a drug store with a BB gun. And the kid told his stepdad that five older boys were going to stab him and his family if he didn't do it.

I personally am trying not to picture John McCain "making love in the club."
Hahaha, A-Town Stomp...this is too funny.
I really liked Jenee's take on that story. Also, for some strange reason it feels like I've heard that rant almost 17 times now... Weird.
That's what you get for sitting next to me, Gooch.
Amen. You know some people are going to vote based on where the candidates buy their french (freedom?) fries. McDonald's. Always McDonald's. Oh, and about that "ugly" Chinese singer... I kind of looked like her when I was a kid. And I thought I was cute. Boo hoo.
