Wednesday massage proceeds to support Arthritis Foundation

Ink

Maybe no one needs to twist your arm to talk you into getting a massage, but if you need a good excuse to splurge, Wednesday is your day to relax.

Massage Envy and the Arthritis Foundation are joining forces for a one-day event to raise awareness and funds in the fight against arthritis. Nine Massage Envy clinics in the KC area will donate $10 from every one-hour massage and facial to the foundation. Last year, the Healing Hands for Arthritis program raised nearly $500,000.

More than 50 million Americans — including 300,000 children — suffer from arthritis. In the Kansas City area, more than 400,000 people and 3,000 children have forms of the disease. Massage therapy can relieve some of the serious pain and limited mobility associated with arthritis.
