Good news: The highly anticipated collaboration between Lil Wayne and Kansas City rap king Tech N9ne actually happened and, according to a recent Tech N9ne interview with Complex, it yielded not one, but two songs.
Tech said in the Complex interview that one of the songs will appear on Lil Wayne’s upcoming album “Tha Carter IV,” out May 16.
The second track, which is called “F– Food,” will be on Tech N9ne’s new full-length, “All Sixes and Sevens,” out June 7.
In the Complex interview, Tech talked about writing and recording his portions of the songs at a Miami studio with Lil Wayne. Here’s an excerpt:
“So he got to hear it and he really enjoyed it—he listened to it like three times. He saluted me and everything. It was a beautiful feeling man. We did one [song for Tha Carter IV] and he’s doing one for my album. I mean, I can’t really describe [the song we did], but it’s MCing, rapping. Just going. You know how he was doing ‘A Milli’ and it was just rapping? Boom. That’s what we did. We brought our MCs to the table. Rapping, motherf–—. We don’t have to have no certain subject, we were just going.”
