If you scored tickets to next week’s Lady Gaga concert, keep your eyes peeled for the possible appearance of local fashion. Earlier this year, Peggy Noland designed a few costumes for a Lady Gaga backup dancer named Posh, whom she met while in Berlin last year. Anyone Gaga-related would seem like a match made in heaven for the designer, whose outfits include brightly colored bodysuits and low-crotched leggings. Her outfits have been worn by musicians like CSS, Tilly and the Wall, Peaches and Ssion.
Recently, Noland has been busy refurbishing her store, which she hopes to have ready to reveal during August’s First Friday events. “This time there are a lot of fingers and fingernails involved,” said Noland, who changes the shop’s look every six months to a year. The designer was recently asked to participate in a show at the Textile Museum of Washington, D.C., along with Henrick Vibskov. In September she’ll spend time in New York City, where she’ll open a pop-up shop and exhibit at The Hole Gallery along with Kansas City’s Cody Critcheloe and Jaimie Warren.Top Events
