Fashion Fix: Lift your hairdo to new heights

Shelby Herrick styles a client's hair with Shu Uemura volumizing products.

Give limp hair some life with volumizing products.

Special to Ink

Anyone can achieve big hair thanks to a boost from the latest products. At Shelby Herrick Salon in Fairway, a line from Shu Uemura: Art of Hair includes volume-specific tools.

  • Volume Maker, $48: A brush-on powder that releases with the click of a button. First swipe the brush precisely where you need volume, starting at the roots. Next massage the product into your hair and back-comb for extra oomph.

  • Ample Angora, $38: Volumizing light foam that offers flexible control and protection against styling tools — apply to dry or damp hair.

  • Extreme Urushi Timeless Finish and Lacquering Sap, $45: Strong holding gel with high shine, made with Japanese cedar and maple tree extracts. Apply to damp or dry hair.

  • Muroto Volume Shampoo and Conditioner, $48-$58: Good for fine hair, created with Depsea water and magnesium to plump up hair fibers.

  • Fiber Lift, $38: Protective volumizer that also adds shine. Apply a dime-size amount to damp hair before blow-drying.

  • Satin Design, $38: Polishing milk with light conditioning. Apply to damp hair prior to drying.
