End of the World Events

Byrd van Roden Productions presents:Zee End of the World, Tres Tragique, with the French Cabaret at the Uptown Arts Bar, 3611 Broadway.


The end is nigh, which means you better make your apocalypse party plans, stat.

Dec. 21, which some believe to be the end of the world, is rapidly approaching, so here are eight parties that will help you go out in style.



What: This new Crossroads Arts District restaurant will hold a special toast at midnight on Thursday with Unibroue’s “La Fin Du Monde,” a beer that, when translated, means, “End of the World.”

Freddy T’s

What: Spend your final days at Freddy T’s in Olathe, where the 9th Street Incline Band will play a show beginning at 9 p.m. No cover charge.

“Mad Max 2: The Road


What: Celebrate the world’s conclusion with one last night at the movies. Screenland Crossroads features a 10 p.m. screening of “The Road Warrior,” the 1981 Mel Gibson film set in a post-apocalyptic world. Tickets are $9.50.

** Unicorn Theatre

What: Take in a timely production of “The Soul Collector,” plus food, an “End of the World” cocktail and a meet-and-greet with the cast before the show. The party starts at 7:30 p.m., with the show beginning an hour later. Tickets are $40.

Tres Tragique!”

What: The French Cabaret hosts a show with performances by mime Beth Byrd and Belleville. There’s live music, as well as appearances by Jazzbo, The Amazing One-Man-Band, and jugglers Kent and Kevin Mercer. Entrance into the show, which runs from 7 to 8:30 p.m., is $10.
