Cinco de Mayo Parade and Festivities
Where: Downtown KCK
What: Parade starts at 11 a.m. Saturday at Seventh Street and Minnesota Avenue. Live music, food, drinks and horse shows will take place Saturday after parade and Sunday (noon to 5 p.m.) outside Bonito Michoacan, 1150 Minnesota Ave.
Cinco de Mayo Fiesta
Where: Guadalupe Centers, 1015 Avenida Cesar E. Chavez
When: Friday through Sunday
What: Concert/dance begins at 6 p.m. Friday (admission $2 for adults). Fiesta Mexicana with live music, food and drink, will be 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Mariachi Fest will be Sunday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine, 907 Avenida Cesar E. Chavez; mariachi Mass and Mexican breakfast will be 8 a.m. to noon, followed by regional mariachi performance 1 to 8 p.m.
Chihuahua Parade and Festival
Where: Barney Allis Plaza
What: Attempt to break Guinness record for most dogs in costume; registration begins at 10 a.m.
Cinco de Mayo
Where: Habanero’s Restaurant, 1008 S.E. Blue Parkway
What: Tent party starts at 11 a.m., drink specials and giveaways at 1 p.m., live music at 4 p.m.
