Kansas men’s basketball vs. Missouri
saturday
It’s been years since anyone cared this much about a Missouri-Kansas men’s basketball game. This season is potentially the last for the Border War. Thanks to Mizzou’s departure to the SEC, the longest-standing rivalry west of the Mississippi River might be in its last year. Both teams enter Saturday’s game playing the kind of basketball that makes fans’ Final Four dreams seem relatively plausible. Kansas has rebounded from a couple of close early-season losses to shoot to a No. 8 national ranking, and No. 4 Mizzou has gone 5-1 since losing to Kansas State in Manhattan on Jan. 7. Tip-off is at 8 p.m. at Mizzou Arena in Columbia, and the game will be broadcast live on ESPN.
Harlem Globetrotters
saturday
The Washington Generals bring their dismal record to the Sprint Center, hoping to turn things around against the candy-cane-garbed Harlem Globetrotters. As always, America’s favorite showboats feature a talented collection of players. Among them are 7-foot-8 Paul “Tiny” Sturgess, the tallest professional basketball player in America, and Jonte “Too Tall” Hall, the shortest player in team history at 5-foot-2. The ‘Trotters take the court twice on Saturday, first at 2 p.m. and again at 7 p.m., and tickets range from $16 to $132 at sprintcenter.com.

Super Bowl XLVI
sunday
A wild conference title-game weekend saw the New York Giants and New England Patriots advance to pro football’s biggest stage. This year’s rematch comes a few years after Giants quarterback Eli Manning led his team on a shocking game-winning fourth-quarter touchdown drive in the 2008 Super Bowl that handed New England quarterback Tom Brady the only Super Bowl loss of his career. Historically, New England holds an edge in the series, 5-4, though the Giants have won the teams’ last two meetings, including a 24-20 road victory earlier this year. Kickoff is 5:29 p.m. on NBC.
