Forget quiet breathing and meditating — yoga just got loud.

This new yoga is all about humor. I decided to try the free Friday night Laughter Yoga class at Plaza Wellspring studio because, well, it sounded a little crazy, and I was curious.

Oh yeah! I got some major action today on the soccer fields.

KC Wizards pro Kerry Zavagnin showed me and 105.1 JACK FM's Bryan Truta a few pointers in preparation for the media game we're playing in during half-time at the Wizards game July 10.

I learned to juggle (poorly) and how to do a real "header," where you bounce the ball off your forehead, not the top of your head cuz that could leave you concussed.

Swimming sucks. I'm getting ready for a mini-triathlon June 28 that requires me to swim a 200.

Sounds easy, but I've done it a few times now and thought I was going to die each time. Isn't it supposed to get easier? I workout almost two hours every day and this 5-minute swim is kicking my ass!

It's frustrating. I know I'll finish it, but I don't want to have an embarrassing time.

It happens when ballet dancers bleed through their toe shoes for the first time - the ultimate rite of passage.

Last night was the same for me. Allison and I were doing a grueling park workout. The monkey bars were punishing me and I was about to bail on my third set because of my sore palms when she showed me her hand. Under her ring finger was a big piece of skin hanging off her hand. She had ripped open a callous.

Crap. I had to finish my third set if this girl standing in front of me did it and endured more pain that me. I couldn't wuss out.

My friend, Jo, and I hit Main Street at 8 a.m. Saturday to race in the Main Street Mile, and we kicked its ass!

Jo hates running more than I do and has recently worked up to a mile, so she wanted to put her new running experience to use. Our goal was 10 minutes, and we finished in 9. We got first and second place in our age group. Holla!!!!

I am so proud of Jo because she kept going even though she wanted to "die." Yay! That's what it's all about it, pushing through when you want to give up. We felt awesome when we were done!

she'd wear these. I picked up these gold and white sparkly shoes last night. So cute, and my workout was way more fun today since I had on my Fitness Goddess shoes.

Summer is approaching, and that means swimsuit season, AAAhhhh!! This year, I refuse to be that girl complaining all season about how I look in my suit. I will not wear a towel every time I walk from my layout chair to the bathroom, nor will I grimace when I catch a look at my butt in the mirror.

How will I accomplish these goals? Simple, by working out (as usual) but by also putting my bod through a six-week detox.

My version of detox means NO booze for six long, painful weeks. I've done it before and have reaped the benefits. I can't wait to say hello to my little friends. We'll call them Hot-ass abs.

I have found a new lower body workout. I rode the bull last night for like 25 seconds and my thighs throb and HURT. Yeah, baby!

I was hanging on for dear life while my friends cheered me on. It was fun and so addicting, can't wait to do it again. I'd love to add it to my daily workout, but I doubt the bar will open for me at 5 a.m. daily to get a few rides in. Damn.

Oh well, at least it's a good way to balance out my drinking. Have a drink, ride the bull. Have another drink, ride the bull. Have another drink, fall off the bull.
