Cameras were banned from the show, but Shi smuggled her tiny one in and managed to get this before she got busted.

Last night, me, second row, Dave Matthews Band. Nope you didn't miss the bulletin about a show in KC. I saw him in Omaha, a six-hour round trip. It was worth every second and every second of missed sleep. I got home at 3 a.m., had to be at work at 7 a.m.

This show marked my ninth time of seeing DMB and was as magical as the first time. You never forget that.

I've never sat closer than like row 60, so this was AMAZING. My friend, Shi, is a huge fan and snagged the tickets for us through her membership of the fan club. Her text to me yesterday summed it up.

"We'll be so close we'll see his ass sweat. Happy Dave Day."

Hell yeah.

Here were some of my favorite moments in no particular order.

- The band busted out "Sledgehammer" by Peter Gabriel as its FOURTH song

- "Ants Marching" was not the finale but instead in the middle of the set

-#41 is probably my all-time favorite DMB song, and we got a 15-minute version

- The band played for 2 hours and 43 minutes

- Dave putting his hand on his hip and doing the "No You Didn't" hand move.

-Tim Reynolds was there, too

- Dave's footwork, a staple to any good Dave show

- Dave looking SO hot and G.Q.

-Boyd's ripped out arms

-dancing my arse off

What are some of your favorite DMB moments?

I have many, tops amongst them being meeting the man himself (he is just as delicious in person!) but musically, the (something like) 25 minute Jimi Thing they played in NYC with Mike Doughty and Robert Randolph...Doughty busting out some spoken word/rap stylings and Robert Randolph going ape sh*t and playing the slide guitar BEHIND HIS BACK....we're talking gymnastic like contortions. That was one of the few times over the years I hadn't been close to the front and it was just as amazing from the nose bleeds at MSG!!
Dave and I are in a heated contest to see who's hairline can recede the fastest. He's in the lead now, but I've decided to start wearing hats more. So I could catch up. My baldological clock is ticking.
