WTF? Virtual beanbag toss
Pub rats the world over are catching a fever. It’s called “Target Toss Pro: Bags.”
An arcade game based on beanbag toss has somehow cultivated a following, and there’s at least one way to get your fix in Kansas City.
Go to McFadden’s Sports Saloon in the Power & Light District. There, wedged among “Silver Strike Bowling,” “Big Buck Hunter” and “Golden Tee Live,” is a coin-operated video game that simulates the experience of chucking a sack filled with legumes into a hole.
But wait, there’s more: You can choose from three virtual environments — toss bags in Chicago’s Grant Park, a stadium tailgate party or beachside at Parrot’s Cove. Or compete in a 16-player tourney (brackets are available at targettosspro.com).
And if that’s not enough, the Web site also includes a pro shop with official “Bags” merchandise. And the game’s MySpace page, myspace.com/ targettosspro, allows fans to unite and share their top scores.
What’s next? Our bets are on “Horseshoe: The Experience.”
WTF?
