Office Space: Lindsay Laricks, snow cone stand operator
Who she is: owner and operator of Fresher than Fresh, a traveling snow cone stand.
How long she’s done it: one summer
Don’t quit your day job:
Laricks, who also works 9 to 5 in advertising, bought a 1957 Shasta trailer on eBay for $1,400 about a year ago. She refurbished the Shasta’s drab interior, which now boasts white walls, gray tweed couches and cheery tomato-soup accents.
The snowball effect: Instead of corn syrup and food coloring, Laricks uses fresh fruits and herbs to make snow cone syrups. Her flavors include Green Tea Pear, Agave Hibiscus and Clemen-thyme.
Just fun: Working in a snow cone stand appeals to Laricks’ “ultra silly feminine side,” she says. “Sometimes I’m like, ‘Have I grown up at all?’ It feels like a dollhouse.”
Good cause: You can try Fresher than Fresh snow cones from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday when Laricks sells her treats at the Breast Cancer Benefit at Happy Gillis Cafe & Hangout, 549 Gillis St.
